First Church of God

Brenda Davis and I (JoAnn Barkman) were able to visit the Rosebud Reservation which is next to the Pine Ridge Reservation. It was quite exciting to finally see what is going on in Allen S.D.  The VBS was in full swing with daily attendance of 85 to 125 children 12 years old and younger. They had the youth come at night for different activities. It was wonderful to see the playground equipment and an amphitheater that is in the process of being built. Men who had come on the mission trip were working in the community making repairs and working with the kids on the playground.  They use the scuffles that break out on the playground as opportunities to teach conflict resolution. I was very impressed with what I saw going on there. It was a blessing at Pass Creek and Wounded Knee to see how other churches ministered there.
